John J. Macliver IV (Jay)


John brings strategic vision and leadership to the company’s day to day operations and together with these strong values, motivational skills and his encyclopedic knowledge of commercial real estate and construction, he conveys self-motivation, creativity and leadership to achieve his client’s goals. His passion to serve his clients and colleagues is what makes John the leader he has become.

John most recently served as President of Construction Strategies Management Group (CSMG) where he oversaw all the firm’s development and construction projects, covering a variety of projects including office, industrial and retail developments.

Prior to CSMG, John served as the President & CEO of the Sperry Van Ness|New Providence Group, a New England based commercial real estate firm serving the construction, property management, and brokerage industries. While there, he managed a portfolio of properties and provided oversight to on-site managers.  John played an integral role in the closing of a $20.3 million Debt & Equity Recapitalization project.  Prior to his time with SVN, he was the Vice President of Asset & Construction Management for the MPM Companies where he oversaw the management of 2.5 million square feet and 1.4 million square feet of construction work. While there, he was responsible for the company’s growth and expansion in the asset, property management and construction services business in the Northeastern corridor.

Before joining MPM, John managed key accounts at two software firms in San Francisco, CA. He began his career working for a Berkshire Hathaway firm in Los Angeles, CA where he was involved in underwriting alternative risk financial platforms.

John brings more than 25 years of experience in business development, sales and management with national and international companies. John serves as an alumni career representative for Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, graduating with a dual degree: Finance and Math. While at Northeastern, he participated in the Co-operative Education program where he held positions with Putnam Investments, Gordon Brothers, NAI Hunneman, Fidelity Investments, and First State Management Group.

John currently resides in Lakeway and is the proud father of one daughter. He is an avid ultra-distance athlete, having finished 3 Ironman triathlons and four 50-Mile running races. John is also a devoted hockey player and has a passion for fishing and hunting.
